Urban Ecosystem Education Program Assistant
Part Time Position

 

TITLE:                          Program Assistant in Education – Urban Ecosystem Education

POSITION #:                 13008-I

LOCATION:                   Baltimore, MD

DURATION:                   15 Hours per week.  Start date September 1, 2013.  End Date August 31st, 2014.  Candidate must have flexibility as specific breakdown of hours will change each week.  Continuation beyond one year contingent on availability of grant funds and performance.

SALARY:                        Commensurate with experience

DUTIES:          

1) Assist in providing classroom support for teachers participating in the Baltimore Partnership for Environmental Science Literacy 2013-2014 Teachers’ Institute (75%). 
2) Assist in developing and delivering professional development programs to middle and high school teachers (15%).
3) Additional administrative duties as needed such as completing inventory of supplies, database updates, meeting attendance, etc. (10%)

Duties may change depending on the needs of the ecology education program.

Access to personal transportation required.

BACKGROUND:             Bachelor’s degree in ecology, science education or related field required, Master’s degree preferred.  At least two years experience in science education.  Excellent writing, communication and organizational skills.  Familiarity with Maryland State Education standards.

The Maryland Water Monitoring Council invites you to post paid and unpaid internship positions on their web site. http://mddnr.chesapeakebay.net/MWMC/

Internship positions will be posted from any water monitoring group in Maryland. Intern opportunities will be posted from both private as well as public groups.
